I would be going completely against what Left Bank stands for if I told you how to spend your summer, well, the month of June anyway. So, I won’t do any of that nonsense. I will, however, strongly encourage those who are of moderate to decent health, somewhat financially stable, and have a fair amount of hours to holiday with, to head to Canada for what may be two of the world’s best festivals.
You’ve got Mural Festival happening in Montreal (arguably one of the best cities in the world), where local and international artists tag the Boulevard Saint Laurent. That’s not all, the Fest this year is expanding to an 11-day event, allowing us all to overdose on street art, music, killer vibes, and the best of French Canadian bohemia. Currently, they’ve got a Kickstarter running to fund the event, so before you get your butt down to Montreal, shake it over to this page.
Then, from June 17-21 you’ve got NXNE, the music // film // art // interactive festival in Toronto. We’re talking Glass Animals, Action Bronson, Rae Sremmurd, Ty Dolla $ign, Baths, Cathedrals, and the MOTHERFUCKING GORIES. Yes. The actual Gories.
If the Canadian Gods love us, we will be snagging a press pass to this festival so we can get our art + culture on. Until then, start planning your trip north this summer. Or be a loser. Which, I also don’t condone.
74 days til summer x.
