We caught Beecher’s Fault at the Bowery Electric last night for their sold out show with Goodbye Motel, Widow Maker Social Club, and English Kils.

The band was absolutely fantastic (and I’m not just saying this because we will be releasing a Hangover Sessions video that La Leche Productions did with them). Each member of the group has a very individualistic style to playing and on-stage performance, while maintaining a remarkable level of synergy with one another. Taken as separate entities, the drummer is in his own world, the keyboard player is in his, the frontman // guitarist is in his own place, and the bassist the same; but like a proper ecosystem, each element of the band is also acutely aware of the other while still doing their own thing.

As I’ve seen hundreds of shows at this point, a lot of these things get to be kind of the same- change out the band and the setlist and you’ve got pretty much the same show. That’s not how it was with Beecher’s Fault- they brought intensity to their playing, they harmonized with skill, and perhaps most importantly, it was obvious that they enjoyed playing with each other. That was the most humbling experience of the night, watching a band play a sold out show as if it was their first- passionate and dedicated to the music and each other.
