L’Origine du Monde, or The Origin of the World, by Gustave Courbet is probably even more famous after a teacher in France took Facebook to court after they suspended his account after he posted this painting.

Fuck censorship.

In honor of International Women’s Day (on March 8th), the act of celebrating creative expression, and in direct response to Facebook’s blatant act of censorship, I am sharing this painting with all of you. You can view this painting in the flesh at the Musée d’Orsay, in Paris.
