Not going to lie, when I first heard this ambient, dream-pop track ‘K.’ from Brooklyn-based band Cigarettes After Sex, I thought ‘this song must be written about me’ … call me vain (I’ve got Carly Simon queued up on my record player) but man this is the exact song that every Brooklyn person would dream someone wrote about them.

It’s strong and sensual, polite and dynamic, and brings about depths of a real NYC relationship throughout its 5 minutes. It’s art – and for any artist living and creating in New York, painstakingly navigating the dating scene from Tinder to late night shows at Berlin and Shea, this track grasps what it means to have even one small moment with another individual of equal caliber.
