The title track “Bolt in the Blue,” is a Nine Inch Nails tinged political anthem, that was co-written with Zac Carper from punk band Fidlar and also features him on guitar.
Everyone’s favorite New Yorker LPX (i.e. MS MR and Neon Gold’s Lizzy Plapinger) has just released her solo debut after having played the songs live on opening for tours with Haim, Glass Animals and RAC.
Not only is she incredibly talented, and a downright visionary (Neon Gold is the shiz in the music scene) but she’s also really, really nice. A friend of a friend grew up with her and has nothing but good things to say about her, ALWAYS.
So we all know MS MR. Unless you were living under a rock. And after six years of non-stop touring, and two albums under their belt, the duo decided to take a hiatus to separately explore new musical terrain. It’s interesting to see what Lizzy has done with the microphone (and spotlight) only on her. The vibes are very similar to MS MR, but with Bolt in the Blue you can tell that she’s owning her own voice//persona–fierce, dynamic, and unapologetic.
I want to create music that RIPS through your speakers and shakes you to your core, the kind of music that fuels you from stillness. Like sonic cocaine for the soul I hope this EP slaps you in the face, punches you in the gut and squeezes at your heart.
