When I first heard the track “You Never Made It Easy” from Queensland-based High Tropics it brought back loads of unhappy memories from my past relationship (with a guy also from Oz).

Sonically reminiscent of early Strokes and Interpol with the DIY elements of FIDLAR and Wavves, High Tropics has once again delivered the goods with their latest fuzzy anthem “You Never Made it Easy”.

Full of all that lofi charm, High Tropics brings the heat with his perfect lyrics, Julian Casablancas-esque voice and catchy 90’s reminiscent sound. So, thank you, even if it makes me want to throw someone’s clothes out the window again.
