Sounds: LA ROSE // pressure

Dreamy + depressive shoegaze pop from Toronto’s LA ROSE; It’s Joy Division meets DIIV, and that’s not something I say lightly.

Life is hard sometimes; people can suck the life out of you; work can bring you down; and generally things can get on the heavy side. We’ve all been there, and I’m not going to even pretend like I haven’t (see: the entire month of January).

But then you get a track like “pressure” from Toronto’s LA ROSE and all those damn feelings that you’ve either been feeling too hard (or avoiding) come out in an almost cathartic way–bringing you closer to a resolution. And tracks that can do this within the first 30 seconds deserve to be highly-regarded.

The track “pressure” is melodic and melancholic, with its gorgeous bass line and ethereal vocals. It’s Joy Division meets DIIV, and I don’t say this lightly.

// It’ll be better tomorrow

Listen to pressure below xx.
