I’ve been in contact with Vancouver’s Surgicalblue for a few months now—not because we have a bff relationship but mostly because I have been inadvertently testing his patience, and my own inability to post things on time. I know, its a problem.
I am however, going on holiday to Berlin next week and will be posting like crazy. So much you’ll actually turn off your Left Bank alerts.
Anyway, this track “Carealot” starts out like a gut punch—and I love that. The instrumentals aren’t complex, it’s easy to get into, and his vocals just tear you apart, with a melody that puts you back together. It’s epic. And really enjoyable.
He’s a one-man band. Starting out strong since 1988. And to be honest, he’s also got an amazing vibe—all which is appreciated.
“Eventually, I grew paranoid about forgetting how to play my songs, so I started recording them so that they would be documented, at least”
To which I say, PLAY THE DAMN SONGS. CUZ THEY RULE.
