Devo and Talking Heads had a baby in the form of Baltimore art-rock band Surf Harp. Yes, that is a big statement. And I stand by it.

Their new track and vid “D.I. Cig” is way too much fun—but it’s also really well made. They know their way around their instruments, and are so good at what they do that not only do they make it look easy, but it looks frickin fun at the same time.

It’s pure talent, and DIY through and through—catching the eye of Friends Records, who has been putting out seminal Baltimore records for nearly 10 years (Future Islands, Flock of Dimes, Celebration). I couldn’t be more stoked to share this track so listen // watch below:
