Sounds: The Vitals // Venom and Line

With their experimental, ambient, and often brash guitar tones, moody vocals that range from angelic highs to a guttural low-rocking belt and dynamic drums that simultaneously kick you in the gut and kiss you on the cheek, the threesome is a true experience.

This track makes me feel like a legend. Like an absolute badass, with my own motorcycle and nice leather jacket from All Saints, and like a vital of an ex lovers blood around my neck. Ok maybe that’s a little weird. But I can’t help the way a track makes me feel.

The music of The Vitals is a vivid combination of post rock, dreamscape and psych with an unexpected punk element. Formed in Los Angeles, CA, in 2010, their raw sound comes from the collaboration of friends and founding members, Kate Strand (vocals, guitar), Henrik Linde (guitar), and Dylan Howard (drums).

They started releasing new single and music videos of their evolved sound last month (June 2018) which featured  heavier elements of electronic and punk—which I just can’t get enough of. “Venom and Line” expresses just that—a lot of edge that is also v. catchy. Get out your assless chaps y’all, it’s time to get a little dirty.
