Somebody told me it’s mind over matter
But I’ve got a feeling it all blows away
Some tracks just make you smile, making you all warm and fuzzy inside. I’m mentally laying in a hammock, with a good book on my lap and my puppy at my feet—this is all because of Toronto-based Dante Matas. Because, in reality, I’m in humidity-filled death valley NYC.
Summer is ending
I’ve no use for wasted time
Give me a reason to make you mine
What I love about this track is that the lyrics aren’t nearly as upbeat as the track itself; it’s almost depressing or melancholic. And, I can’t get enough. Oddly enough, a lot of the tracks on the Left Bank are dark in nature and masked with indie rock/pop happiness.
“Tomorrow Is Leaving” is the second single from the album 2018 A Colourful Headache by Dante Matas. It is both an upbeat and adventurous indie pop song with multiple melodic hooks, interesting harmonic changes, and haunting lyrics.
