I love the weight of the bass riffing at the beginning of “Dan Halen,” the latest release by Savannah, GA’s Rude Dude and the Creek Freaks. It reached out and dragged me into the song before the guitar and drums ever kick in, something that only a really good bass line can do.
Got a one way ticket to hell,
She ain’t never comin’ back.
You know what else I love? The angry, aggressive energy in this song, because it doesn’t feel like a charade. All I’m seeing is the drummer beating the shit out of a kit while a frontman takes the best parts of Iggy Pop and Mick Jagger and combines them for a wild ride.
“Dan Halen” is a monstrous track. I just want to know when I can see these guys live.
