UK’s The Emporers of Ice Cream are loud. They are bombastic. They are amps-at-11-and-how-hard-can-I-hit-this-drum-with-this-stick. “The Sunshine Song” is all of those things, with the addition of howling vocals that demand, “Are they lies, or carefully constructed information disguise?”
Punk’s long legacy of challenging the mainstream media is carried on in grand fashion by this quartet. I’ve never wanted to stick it to The Man so badly while headbanging to a killer jam (and believe me, I’ve really felt like sticking it to The Man lately…). Plus, it was all recorded live and in one sitting at Brighton Electric Studios. Love, love, love it.
