We all experience death in our own, unique way. Me? I like to eat and drink and do my best to celebrate whoever is gone. It probably has something to do with my mom and her big Irish Catholic family. They wake, and it can make things better.
The Oceans mourned in their own way. After the death of a lifelong friend, they wrote “We Really Miss You,” an upbeat ode with tragic lyrics speaking directly to the lost. It’s a wake in its own right. It puts a smile on your face while your heart hurts. The washed out vocals yearn for a friend never to be seen again, the bouncy guitar invokes happy memories that hopefully won’t fade away.
We all mourn in our own way, but The Oceans mourn masterfully.
