Noise techno duo Boy Harsher have created some of the best underground dance tracks over the past three years, while gaining a reputation for their impressive live shows. The Massachusetts-based group meld together noise influences with sensuous lyrics of longing and rhythmic synth tracks. Today, Jae Matthews (vox) and August Muller (instrumentation) have announced the release of their second full-length Careful. They’ve also shared the video for first single “Face the Fire”, a mesmerizing track on lust. “Face the fire, it makes me wild”, whispers Matthews as nostalgic drum machines stoke a craving hunger for love. The video was self-directed by the group which features an 80’s home movie look as it takes us through a woman’s twilight journey from a beach to a darkened hotel room, while shots of a city’s red light district at night are spliced between. Its an irresistible track that’ll leave you strewn across the dance floor, as you search in vain for a lost love.
“…an album that has followed me through super dark shit and profoundly wonderful moments. Life is funny, ’cause you’re both ecstatic and devestated in the same moment. We tried to capture some of that emotion within these recordings.” – Jae Matthews
