Duuuuuudes this song is about as smooth as it gets. It’s got a sexy, slinky bass line, woozy guitars, and that synth just feels so good. Recorded while bouncing back and forth between bedroom studios, “Lights Out” is the latest single from Ocean Potion’s eponymous debut LP, Ocean Potion, and I l. o. v. e. it.
A modern-day, Canadian super-group, Ocean Potion was formed originally as a collaboration between Mike O’Brien of the band Zeus and Yukon Blonde’s Jason Haberman, who met while touring Canada with their respective bands, then rounded out by Dave Azzolini of Forces and Jay McCarol of Brave Shores.
“The music is a reflection of the good vibes that were happening while creating it,” the band says. “This is music for lazy days at home, for walks with headphones, and for sunshine through the car window.”
All I’m picturing is leaving a crowded house party, hazy with smoke and the smell of cheap beer, and walking down an empty sidewalk in the middle of the night, completely alone but totally alright with it. Stream “Lights Out” here now:
