Sounds: Pure Mids // Don’t Quit

SoCal-based Pure Mids began as the side-project of songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Will Gonzalez, who started writing songs about self-skepticism and optimism. He quickly joined forces with producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Steven Martinez, and drummer Daniel Jurado to record the dreamy, neo-psychedelic project known as Pure Mids.

“Don’t Quit,” the latest single, is an upbeat, catchy track with a thoroughly danceable beat and a reverb-washed vocal. It’s the kind of song that fits perfectly on your go-to playlist; you can dance to it, cook to it, drive around in the middle of the night to it…it just doesn’t get old.

“Your voice is way too loud
There’s a crowd  coming down
You say you’re leaving town
Are you the same? Am I to blame?

Those words are well known
Don’t quit and I won’t.”

Accompanied by some vintage 1980s synthesizer and a drum machine that just don’t quit (pun definitely intended), “Don’t Quit” is sure to be your newest obsession. Stream it here:
