Sounds: The Mistoos // Girl (I Need You)

LA-based rock band The Mistoos have only been together since early 2018, but their effortless vintage-meets-contemporary psychedelic sound feels like it’s been percolating since…oh, I don’t know, 1967.

Featuring vocals that sound like The Beatles set to a dramatic tango of a tune, “Girl (I Need You)” is hypnotic and intoxicating. It’s familiar enough to catch the attention of a casual listener, but there’s something in the modern edge and fanged delivery that’s thoroughly unique.

“”Girl (I Need You)” is a song about heartbreak, co-dependency, and fear of committing to the thing you want most,” the band says. “Something relatable and close to the heart.”

Honestly, I can think of only three words to sum up how I feel about this track and The Mistoos: give. me. more.
