Sounds: still alive // me and god, we dont get along

still alive, a Los Angeles-based project from the mind of Alex Yukich, has released a dreamy, hair-raising electronic instrumental titled “me and god, we dont get along”. The song eases and then pounds into its emotional and musical peaks and valleys, oozing dark, confident energy.

In its opening, whispery ambiance tightens into the songs main vocal riff, “We don’t get along somehow I see,” with some delayed synth and guitar weaving in and out. As the song ruptures into its full drum machine-laden beat drops, billowing synths add to the already complex mechanisms of harmony and rhythm. If you’re feeling a wee bit murderous and forlorn, flick this song on as you walk down a poorly lit street corner.
