Ughhh Doctrs is so cool. They’re like a darker, more sinister version of The Last Shadow Puppets, all baroque and baritone and distorted, drifting vocals.
I fell in love with them when I heard “Easy Go” a few weeks ago. The duo, comprised of Josh Campos and Sean Bloom, manage to capture an eloquent moodiness as they delve into the twisted illness that is modern romance.
“The answers we may seek exist in some form of duality and an unrelenting labyrinth of paradoxes,” the band says. “Rather than offering a cure, these Doctrs simply want to know, “Why are we like this?””
I don’t have an answer. All I know is that “Cold Sweats” (and Doctrs) are climbing their way up the list of bands that remind me why I got into music journalism in the first place.
