Sounds: Waterstrider // Weaker One

Waterstrider – based out of Oakland, California – have released their new track “Weaker One” on 30th Century Records, and the indie pop track is about as slick as scalding hot cooking oil.

Lead vocalist Nate Salman’s soft falsetto vocals, reminiscent of Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke, repeat delicately in catchy pop perfection. The song’s second standout is the superb rhythm section, particularly the drums. The double-kick hits are what I believe give the song it’s cool, unassuming posture. Minimal fuzz guitar tones augment the already dope tonality and atmosphere of the song, along with some claps placed so perfectly inside the pocket it makes your butthole pucker.

There’s not much more I can say about this track other than it’s great, so go listen to it now.
