Sounds: Corella // Let On

Manchester’s indie-pop quartet, Corella, came out absolutely swinging with “Let On.” Featuring a seriously driving rhythm section with urgent, riffing guitars and vocals weaving a catchy, intense melody, “Let On” is almost two and a half minutes of nonstop indie-pop perfection. I didn’t want the song to end; I was genuinely disappointed that it was over.

Lead singer Joel Smith, backed by his uni mates Ben Henderson, Jack Taylor, and James Fawcett, deliver a pounding, relentless track that reminds me a little of The Killers with a twist of angsty punk attitude, and I love it.
