I would say that Canada’s Mellow Fields came out swinging with “Hellbent On You,” but in all honesty, it’s more like they wove a sonic spell that settled on us like a heavy fog. The chillwave track, featuring Mecha Maiko, is ethereal and full of sparkling synths over a driving kick drum.

As the song slows down into a dreamy chorus just before the two-minute mark, it takes on a futuristic halftime vibe that’s impossible to shake, keeping heads nodding and listeners entranced until the very end.
