Sounds: Speelburg // Screener Season

After you listen to enough of it, music can be predictable. You can hear the chord changes coming, the next note makes sense, the key change is coming up next. It’s not a bad thing necessarily — there is a finite combination of notes available. It’s just the way it is. But, that’s what makes finding unpredictable music so special. It’s odd, unique, and breaks audio monotony.

Speelburg‘s “Screener Season” leaves you guessing between every stanza. Notes rise and fall in crooked, curious ways what beg for multiple listens. It’s almost like a pop shoegaze tune took a funny looking mushroom that warped reality just a little bit. It’s emotionally intoxicating.
