Sounds: Girlpool // Pretty

I’m seriously digging Los Angeles indie duo Girlpool‘s latest single, “Pretty.” Made up of Cleo Tucker and Harmony Tividad, the group describes themselves as being in “constant evolution” as they embark on their musical journey.

Featuring subdued, introspective vocals and simple – but driving – instrumentation, “Pretty” plays like the indie rock track in the middle of the indie film, when the lead characters experience their first big conflict and one of them leaves the other standing alone. We all know they’ll reunite, but, in that moment, it’s still and quiet and heavy.
