Sounds: Babies’ Babies // Brother Brian

Babies’ Babies might be my new favorite band. I grew up listening to classic rock and country, and there’s nothing more comforting to me than the sound of an Allman Brothers Band jam or a country-western inspired track, loaded with steel guitar and a steady railroad beat. “Brother Brian” is that track, blending all the sounds of the singers I loved with a modern, indie sensibility.

Based in Queens, NY, Babies’ Babies is a little bit country, a little bit rock ‘n roll, and a whole lotta wonderful. I listen to every track I review two or three times, but I’ve got “Brother Brian” – and the rest of Babies’ Babies new EP, Right On, Rosy!, Pt. 2 – on repeat for the sheer joy of listening to good music. That’s a feeling that can be hard to come by, and the best way to start off my week.
