Self-proclaimed purveyors of glum-pop, Morning Myth – made up of guitarist Ross King and singer Aimee Herbert-Smith – reminds me so much of The Cranberries that their latest track, “Human Love,” almost stopped me in my tracks.
After coming together over a mutual love for Fleetwood Mac, the Cocteau Twins, Slowdive, and John Martyn, Morning Myth blends warm acoustic tones with ethereal, echoing vocals. The result? “Human Love,” a delicate, ambient track that brings a smile to my face. In fact, it made me laugh a little when I read the words “glum-pop”; “Human Love” is soothing and welcoming to me, the exact opposite of glum.
