Sounds: Scum Shots // Street Dip

Staten Island surf punks Scum Shots have done it again with their recent release, “Street Dip,” a delirious and second single off their debut album, Mouthwash.

“Street Dip” is a short nod toward the small yet appreciated surf punk scene of New York City, with a quick “how you doin’” introduction that defies the norms of commercial success and mirrors that of Ty Segall or King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard.

If you were to sonically pair this track with food, it might come as an appetizer alongside a tasty pale ale or hip classic PBR, like their previous split single, “Daydrinking / Beerpressure” suggests. According to the band, “dip some chips in the street to celebrate!”
