Philadelphia’s nineteen-year-old ambient electronic artist Instupendo (aka Aidan Peterson) has been captivating listeners since his preteens via Soundcloud, but even his devoted followers weren’t ready for his latest track, the hazy, ethereal “Cinderella.”

The first single off of his upcoming EP, Boys by Girls, “Cinderella” starts out with a mellow groove, muted keys, and delicate strings before breaking into a funky, synth-laden affair with an unexpectedly funky breakdown. It’s equal parts melancholic and euphoric – his signature twist – and is the first track off of the first EP to feature his vocals, weaving offbeat sounds with captivating melodies.
