Reminiscent of my NYC-buds Kung Fu Crimewave, Winnipeg, Manitoba’s Merin has put together this catchy indie-rock/anti-folk tune “Coral Island.”

In the past year, Merin has gone from Cole Zachary’s basement pop project to an energetic indie rock quartet, and we are so glad that Cole made that change. The band bridges the gap between noisy ’90s nostalgia and sincere bedroom pop, and puts out a sound easy to grasp but complex in its delivery.
