Hear ye! Our buds over at SoundTown are taking over New York City this Saturday and honestly I couldn’t be more excited. The festival was created to make a collaborate environment, moving away from competitiveness and towards a more open musical community—which is everything we stand for at Left Bank. Inclusion! Collaboration! Freedom! A new President! (ok sorry I got a little carried away).
The festival is at four different locations, Arlene’s Grocery, Pianos, and Berlin Under A, and they also have an outdoor stage, and will showcase 22 emerging local bands.
“The SoundTown team and I are striving to break down the walls between the many sub scenes of NYC. We’re working to create an overarching community that moves towards a DIT (Do It Together) mentality.” — Jacob Geskin, one of the organizers of SoundTown.
Performers for the inaugural year of SoundTown Festival include a lot of Left Bank’s friends and buds (another reason we are so stoked on the fest): Stolen Jars, HNRY FLWR, Luxardo, Madam West, Cassette Spence, Deep Sea Peach Tree, Toledo, KilCool and UV Rays.
Tickets are available on Eventbrite still so, you know, support live music, and local bands, and come hang with us tomorrow x
