“Be good to you, I know you’re quick to forget.”

I’ve been waiting a long time for a track that is as upbeat and unpretentious as this tune by JW Francis. “Lofi” is the quintessential Venice Beach on a Saturday track—and I couldn’t want, or need, anything more than this.

Born in Tulsa Oklahoma, raised in Paris, France, and now based in New York City, JW Francis brings an accessible warmth and coolnesss to his music. The track “Lofi” isn’t vocally or lyrically complex, and that’s what I love about it: it’s just a happy, indie-rock tune about being kind to yourself and others. And, being that yesterday was world mental health day, I think this track resonates even more.
