Sounds: Beach Language // Be Afraid

When Tame Impala came on the scene, I remember almost entirely losing my shit. Who is this band, where are they from, how do they make tunes so groovy I could die?

That’s how I feel with the band Beach Language, who is like an American answer to Tame Impala. Their sound is soulful, and admittedly they range more on the rock side than their Aussie counterparts but the sentiment—and emotion felt while listening—is arguably the same.

These are two bands that make you feel good about yourself, your life, and your position. In their first single off of their debut, full length record Small Talk they sing ‘there’s no need to be afraid’ and you truly believe it. Beach Language said it, so it must be true.

The Oklahoma City, OK-based band is making strides in their music and with 2020 just around the corner, I’m honestly intrigued to see—and hear—what they come up with next.
