East LA Latin psych band Levitation Room is a damned good, no frills, great time. The music video for their track “Ooh Child” is what I suspect the real-life version of a party à la Superbad would look like—and I want my invite.

Their retro fuzzy sound and DIY film production contrast with the finessed bedroom pop track. What happens then, is you get a music video that in its essence appears to be one-part home video and one-part Hollywood film production. It’s unique, clever, and accessible. You feel as though you are transported from your own bedroom and brought right alongside the band at this house party.

They’ve been purveyors of the LA underground garage rock scene and their new video provides the perfect soundtrack to scenes of a SoCal high school rager.
