We have been fans of Dakota Blue for a while now, with their dream pop sound and soft and lovely vocals. They recently released a music video for their track “At the Gala” and it is like a blue-tinted secret garden. Featuring 12-string guitar and synths, the music video matches the dreamy atmosphere of the track.
Dakota Blue sings “everyone’s got a weakness, to get on the guest list,” which feels like a line taken out of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s “The Beautiful and Damned.” It makes sense though—the LA-based musician is making a statement, or social commentary if you will, on life and culture in LA.
Featuring cinematography by Priscilla Mars, this saturated music video speaks depths about our society. Watch it below.
