Premiere x Yella Belly: The Long Haul / Mean ol’ Mama

We are busy preparing for the first official Left Bank Live virtual festival but are excited to interrupt festival planning to premiere two tracks from one of our favorite bands: Yella Belly.

‘The Long Haul / Mean ol’ Mama’ release is the second installment after ‘Bad Dog / Last Days’ which the band recorded and worked to rush release right in time before hitting the road with Johnny Marr last year on his 2019 U.S. tour.

Yella Belly

Full of down-home folk that I have missed since leaving the good state of Missouri, ‘The Long Haul / Mean ol’ Mamathis’ is the second installment of singles in the AA-side series the band is doing—a 2 track release, with one main single. They recorded and produced this new batch of songs themselves and mixed it with Eli Crews up in the Catskill Mountains (where New Yorkers go for respite).

In the 9 months that the band has been on this sweet earth as a unit, they have shared stages with Johnny Marr (yes, that Johnny Marr), Black Joe Lewis, Love Fame Tragedy (The Wombats), Eighty Ninety, and sold out their first headliner set in hometown NYC.

The singles dropped Friday the 13th, and in true Left Bank fashion we were late to get it up (don’t kill us boys!) but it’s here now for your listening pleasure. These mini EPs that they are putting out is a great way to get music out there while also packaging it in a unique and concise way. Nice work, friends.

Enjoy your weekend everyone!
