We are absolutely stoked to premiere this new track by our new favorite band Sally Haze. With a name like Sally Haze you might think this Chicago act was a solo artist, but it’s actually the project of trans-continental couple, Jess (vox) and Will Wright (guitar/bass).
Meghan and Harry walked so Sally Haze could run — Jess was born and raised in Chicago and Will was born in Leeds, England, and the power couple began writing and recording as Sally Haze in their home studio in 2019.
The new tune “All That Matters” is their first single off their upcoming EP Wet Dream. It’s a heavenly mix between fuzzy dream pop and shoegaze, featuring Karen O-esque vocals, layers upon layers of guitars, and lyrics that hit home—musing on longing and frustration which all of us in quarantine can probably relate to. The result is four dizzying minutes of tension and catharsis.
As if we need any more tension in our lives right now, but trust us, the release is so worth it.
Their upcoming album Wet Dream will be released in the summer of 2020 on midwest indie label, The Record Machine. Listen to the new tune below x and read their interview with them here.
